Alastair holds the Healthscope values at the forefront of his practice, and his staff interactions, patient outcomes and satisfaction results reflect this.
Alastair is motivated and willing to help ANY staff member, be it a nurse trying to get their patient to the toilet, a cleaner trying to move furniture around to clean, a Doctor trying to navigate their way through EMR, or his other Allied Health team members, whereby he is the first person to offer assistance.
Alastair is an effective communicator and has recently been involved in supervision of our first ever Physio students.They reported him to be efficient, compassionate, understanding and an excellent teacher.
Alastair is very diplomatic in his reasoning, he is open to others ideas and opinions, is willing to change, and is happy to change his view in situations. He recently was involved in a trick discharge situation whereby 3 doctors all had differing opinions on the best discharge destination for one of his patients, and Alastair was successfully able to discuss with all 3, and the patient and the patients family to facilitate a safe and appropriate discharge plan.
Alastair has stepped up and become a leader in our Practical Manual Handling compliance with mandatory training, significantly contributing to getting Melbourne Private up to 92% completion rates pre-accreditation. He was also generous enough to teach other disciplines i.e. Theatres.
