About The Nominee
The challenges in healthcare over the last few months have been unique, stressful, demanding and ever changing. The team at Pacific Private Day Hospital have embrace every new decision, every change in practice with determination, enthusiasm and safety as the focal point. While processes can change from the morning shift to the afternoon shift they have remained adaptable. They have engaged with each other and supported each other during this ever changing environment. Their support for their fellow colleagues shows their dedication not only to patients safety but their own safety.
We have gone from a state of a reduction in elective surgery, to an increase beyond any numbers we have every preformed surgery on before to the threat of a new COVID surge. We have had days of 70-80 cases through our doors while maintaining social distancing, hand hygiene and safety to all concerned. We have stopped surgery or patient flow if areas were being breached, staff have rescheduled their breaks when the staff room was full, staff have worked overtime to accommodate and be flexible to the needs of the patients and the organisation. Even our VMOs has been more engaged in every decision we have made for the safety of everyone. We have cancelled surgery on cases that are febrile even if they have attended their bowel prep for a colonoscopy or it means that the time they had taken off work for their surgery now needs to be rescheduled. Safety is our top priority and staff have embraced this more than ever.
