About The Nominee

Sam has been a star addition to the ICU team at Flinders Private Hospital since his first day working within the unit. He has rapidly developed into a promising intensive care nurse, through his hard work and dedication, extra study, and willingness to learn each and every shift.

One thing that makes Sam a standout team member is his bedside manner and care he has towards his patients and their family members. He is incredibly patient and regularly goes above and beyond to ensure his patients have everything they need, are comfortable, and are well looked after. Whilst our patients are suffering and are at a lower point in their lives, Sam makes sure to improve their day, which improves their mindset and I believe helps to achieve positive outcomes. Not only does Sam care for his patients in this way, but also all other patients he has contact with in his day, with all patients often aware of "that fantastic nurse Sam" by the end of their ICU admission.
